1989
Location
Jerusalem
Role
Architect
Lions Fountain Park

From the architect's notes

A small public park designed around a sculpted lions fountain — a well-loved corner of the city. Inaugurated 21 March 1989.

The fountain, a present of German Chancellor Kohl to Jerusalem's Mayor Teddy Kollek, is composed of lions around the Tree of Life. The fountain's bronze sculptures were made by the German artist Trumpf. Matisse's figures dance around the fountain's 'Tree of Life', which becomes the focus and 'raison d'être' for their ritual dance.
